Who Are You Living For?

It’s real hard for us to think about February 22, 2012. It was the saddest day of our lives so far and a time we’ll never forget. This was the day our Mammaw went to Heaven.

Mammaw was our great grandmother, Juanita Daves. When she passed, she was 89 years old. And, she was the best Christian we’ve ever known. We spent a lot of time with her and went to see her every week. She lived right around the corner from us, so that was great. We sang for her, sang with her, prayed with her, laughed with her and asked her thousands of questions about God, the Bible, and life in general. She knew everything about God, and she shared it all with us and with everyone she ever met. No kidding, everyone she met!

If you’ve been on our Facebook page for very long, you may have seen this newspaper article we posted a while about a year or so ago, “It’s about Mammaw’s Glory Garden“. After we posted the article, we had hundreds of nice comments from our friends and fans. We showed them to Mammaw on the iPad and she’d smile all over. She felt like a celebrity.

The same thing happened with our Silent Night video we posted this Christmas (Silent Night with Mammaw 2011). You know that wasn’t even planned; it just happened. This was the first time we’d ever tried to sing with someone other than the three of us. But, it worked out and now, we’re so glad we did that. And, what a memory! And again, thousands of views and nice comments followed.

But, here’s the important part of the story. We’ve cried our eyes out because we loved and will miss our Mammaw. But, it’s okay because we know her whereabouts right now. And, we know she was ready. Because, Mammaw died just as she lived, a Christian.

And now, we want to encourage you. It’s never too late. Forgiveness is free. Heaven is free. Do you know why you are living and who you are living for? Who is the Mammaw in your life?

As we start 2012, we want to take time to drop you a message. We cannot thank you enough for your support, prayers, purchases, applause, comments, shares, etc over the past year. We know you have many entertainment choices and we’re just glad you gave us some interest. Quite simply, all of these things you’ve done have made our year a great one. We can never reflect enough on the grace God has given us. We had such a great year in 2011. Some of our blessings include:
- We recorded and released our first full length CD ‘All This Time’. We co-wrote many of the songs and worked with some extraordinary music people.
- We reached 40,558 fans on our Facebook Fan Page. This is simply unbelievable! And, it’s only and all because of folks like you who told somebody about Daves Highway.
- We were discovered by an amazing website Godvine.com who posted one of our videos back in April 2011. Since then, several more have posted and in all, our videos posted by Godvine.com have been viewed 1,924,044 times!
And, in all of this excitement, Zachary got his driver’s license, Erika got her braces off, and Delaney became a high school senior. Thanks again for making our year so special. And, please help us keep spreading the Word.

We are super excited about our upcoming weekend in Tyler Texas! We’ll be in town Friday 10/28 – Sunday 10/30.

This is our second performance for the Tyler Type One Diabetes Foundation. They’re great people with such a great cause for us all to join in support!

Our Saturday show is at Bergfeld Park at noon, but show up by 10 AM for all of the family fun, events, and stuff. The address is 1510 South College Ave, Tyler, TX.

Then, on Sunday we’ll be at Calvary Baptist Church. We’ll do a few songs Sunday morning at 10 Am. And on Sunday night at 6PM, we’ll be doing a full concert. The address is 6704 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, TX.

“All This Time” CD Release Party

Miss 103 has been so great to us by playing the “All This Time” single for several weeks now. (And thanks to you for requesting it!) To celebrate the release of our new album on September 20th, Miss 103 gave their listeners a chance to win the “All This Time” CD and meet us at Burgers & Blues in Ridgeland, MS. During this event, we performed several of our new songs. Lucky winners also got a chance to preview our locally-produced “All This Time” music video. Congrats to our DH Guitar Winner!

We were so excited for the winner of our autographed Fender guitar! We had thousands of entrants from our fans and hated to only be able to have one winner.

We shipped the guitar to him way up in Maryland and it arrived in one piece! When he sent us a photo of himself and his new prize, we had to call him on the phone. We really had a great time chatting away with Mr. Bruce Templeman.
